Zigyt 1.1 Released
Published: July 15, 2010
Carmanah/IP announces the release of Zigyt v1.1 and within days it is listed as "New and Noteworthy" in App Store.
Zigyt is a one of a kind iPhone/iPod touch(R) app for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, coaches and trainers. Zigyt runs a user through agility training exercises using a real human voice to call out actions (e.g.: forward/back/left/right) in real-time. When running a random pattern, the user will not know what move will be called next.
Fitness experts have noted that agility training can be more effective if the athlete has to respond to varying directional commands as it takes away the athlete’s ability to anticipate the next move. This is precisely what Zigyt does and so more closely mimics a real competitive situation than does executing static agility exercises.
While proper bio-mechanics of drill execution are taught by coaches, trainers and instructors, Zigyt provides a very inexpensive way for the athlete or fitness enthusiast to train on their own, any time and in a variety of settings.
Zigyt features over 20 agility drills grouped by type and degree of difficulty. Drills are also listed by the sport that they can apply to which include (but are not limited to) Tennis, Soccer, Baseball, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Squash and Hockey. Also included are drills specific to Tennis and Squash.
Other features of Zigyt:
- Plays both predictable and random patterns.
- Rating for each drill (easy, medium, difficult).
- Instructions and diagram for each drill.
- Adjustable Time Per Action (pace) for each drill.
- Adjustable Time Per Action for specific actions in a drill.
- Adjustable drill duration.
- Save custom settings and restore default settings.
- Help page to go along with each screen.
- Can be used with earbuds or a docking station with speakers.
